Side effects
When you start taking the medication, you might feel metallic taste in mouth, diarrhea, stomach upset or nausea as your body adjusts to the medication. In most of the cases these symptoms would disappear soon, but in case they persist, tell your doctor promptly. After several days or weeks, if the symptoms reoccur, be sure to contact your doctor immediately.
RIOMET usually does not cause low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). However, low blood sugar may occur due to various other reasons like taking other medications for diabetes, large amounts of alcohol, or not enough calories from food. Tell your doctor about the reaction immediately. You should eat meals on a regular schedule and do not skip meals to prevent low blood sugar level.
In case you feel symptoms of high blood sugar (hyperglycemia), tell your doctor immediately. Your dosage may need to be increased.
